Eligibility

This hackathon is open to all students :)

Rules and Judging

To keep the hackathon fair and beginner-friendly, please follow these rules:

  1. Use the Maki framework
Your game must be built with Maki to be eligible for prizes.
  2. Build a 2D pixel RPG game
The project should be a playable 2D pixel RPG game.
  3. Submit a public GitHub repository
Your GitHub repository must be public and include instructions on how to run the game.
  4. Submit before the deadline
Projects must be submitted by the official deadline: May 10, 2026.
  5. Make your own project
You may use open-source assets, tutorials, or starter code, but your final game should include your own creative work.
  6. Be respectful and constructive
Participants are encouraged to help each other and give kind, useful feedback.

Important Note About Review and Selection

Submitting a public GitHub repository does not guarantee that your project will be fully reviewed or selected for judging.

Due to time and submission volume, the organizers and judges may review only eligible, complete, accessible, and relevant submissions.

Finalist selection, prize decisions, and all judging outcomes are made at the sole discretion of the judges and organizers.

Judging may consider creativity, use of the Maki framework, entertainment value, educational value, project completeness, and overall fit with the hackathon theme.

All decisions are final.
